Bio
Sam Pazzano
Licensed Paralegal · Registered Agent
Before Sam Pazzano ever represented a client in a courtroom, he spent 26 years watching how they work from the inside. As the Toronto Sun's Justice Bureau reporter — the longest-tenured court reporter on the beat in the country — Sam covered some of the most closely watched cases in Canadian legal history. He was once called "the Michael Jordan of court reporting" at a Ryerson University panel of journalists and lawyers. The late Christie Blatchford said it best: "Walking through the courthouse with Sam is like walking through Vegas with Sinatra."
In 2020, Sam retired from Post Media and turned that decades-long courtroom education into a second career. He graduated from Cestar College's paralegal program as a recipient of a We Defend You Full Scholarship, passed his Law Society of Ontario P1 exam, and was licensed in 2022. He trained at Vardag, Geist, LLP — We Defend You, before launching Pazzano & Associates Paralegal Group.
Sam's practice focuses on Provincial Offences Act and Highway Traffic Act defence, summary criminal matters, and regulatory proceedings. He also teaches Law and Ethics for Journalists in the Master of Journalism program at Toronto Metropolitan University — because understanding the law from every angle is what he does.
As a registered agent on POA Court Agent, Sam is available for court coverage and agency appearances. Few people have spent more time in Ontario courtrooms. Now he's in them for you.
