Terms of Service

1. The platform

POA Court Agent is a marketplace operated by Frank Alfano connecting Ontario lawyers and paralegals (“requesters”) with licensed agents (“agents”) for Provincial Offences Act court coverage. We facilitate booking and payment; we are not the lawyer or paralegal of record on any matter.

2. Eligibility

To list as an agent you must be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario as a lawyer or licensed paralegal. We verify your LSO licence number manually before activating your directory listing. False or misleading information leads to immediate removal.

3. Booking + payment

When an offer is accepted on a case, the requester’s card on file is charged 100% of the agreed amount. Funds are held by us until disposition is uploaded by the agent and confirmed by the requester (or 12 hours pass without dispute, in which case auto-confirmation triggers payout). Payout to the agent is the agreed amount minus a 10% platform fee.

4. Cancellation

The case poster may cancel a booking at any time. If a card has been charged, a 100% refund is processed. Pending offers are withdrawn.

5. Privilege + confidentiality

Privileged information uploaded by a requester (client name, matter summary, documents) is visible only to the requester and the assigned agent, and only after payment has been held in escrow. The public calendar shows agent, court, courtroom, and time only.

6. Independent contractors

Agents listed on the platform are independent contractors. The platform does not employ them. The platform does not guarantee outcomes in court or set how an agent should advocate.

7. Reviews

Requesters may post a star rating + comment after disposition. Reviews lock 24 hours after first submission. We may moderate reported content.

8. Liability

Use the platform at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the platform operator nor any agent is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Disputes are governed by the laws of Ontario.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced by email to active accounts.
